Practised protection of natur and environment means not only to let a region or biotop for itself. It is often more helpful to interfere and reduce one sort, which overgrows of course another, to make sure that the powerless can resist. Here the idea was to reduce bushes and broom to protect the nearly unvisible Adonisrose Adónis vernalis which gives the slopes at the Oder a colorful sight every springtime.
